The Hardware Instrumentation Group is looking for a system engineer to join us and design and deploy instrumentation systems which carry out camera test and calibration for Apple’s new product introduction (NPI). This engineer works closely with instrumentation vendors, camera design, algorithms and product design groups to ensure the success of current and future Apple products.

Key Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of related work experience in Camera or Imaging Industry is required.
  • Knowledge of two or more of the following: camera technology (sensor/ lens/ ISP ), image quality analysis, optical instrumentation (ex: custom lens/ collimators/ camera test & cal targets/ lighting)
  • Programming skills : C/C++/ Objective C and Matlab/Python.
  • Ability to lead pro-actively and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically diverse development teams.

Description

In this role you will design and specify camera calibration methodology and platforms according to product characters and quality requirements in collaboration with cross functional teams. Specifically, you will - Drive the development and maturity of scalable camera calibration platforms. Develop, qualify, maintain and optimize the H/W and S/W solutions (image processing algorithms, control SW etc) for the same. - Work with fixture, equipment, component vendors to develop and deploy the electromechanical test platforms from scratch. - Specify and acquire measuring/calibrating equipments, components and tools for use in a NPI environment (e.g.collimators, lenses, fixtures, etc.) - Deploy and monitor the stations, analyze large quantity station data, and formulate reports throughout the NPI cycle. - Lead pro-actively and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically diverse development teams. - 15-20% of international travel is required.

Education & Experience

Master’s in EE, Optics, Physics etc
