As an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) in Product Safety, you will be focused on worldwide Field Captures and Failure Analyses, working closely with engineers to investigate incidents and future designs. You will work closely with Apple product teams, external laboratories, and test agencies to ensure our products meet the highest international and Apple-specified requirements. Key Qualifications

  • You are a stellar program/project management with impeccable organizational skills and attention to details
  • You have demonstrated skills in project management tools, schedule development/management, and leadership
  • Stellar data management, data synthesis, tracking and trend analysis, along with the visual presentation thereof; strong command of key applications (e.g. Excel, Numbers, Keynote, and Tableau) required
  • Strong technical intuition and understanding of basic engineering concepts with ability to grasp complex design and process problems, while distilling them to their barest essences
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, harness the powers of teamwork, and relate to myriad technical partners
  • Highly effective communicator, both in spoken and written forms; keen interpersonal skills and understands how to communicate across different audiences
  • Strong hunger factor and courageous spirit with a proclivity towards action and creative problem-solving
  • Calm under fire, high resilience and interest in complex problem-solving within a challenging and fast-paced engineering environment
  • Ability to travel unrestricted, up to 10% of the time -- work may require periodic travels to address anticipated (and unanticipated) project demands
  • Familiarity in, or experience with, international and/or regional product Safety standards and testing a big plus
  • Foreign language proficiency desirable


• In this role you will work with Safety engineers on the tracking, handling, and analysis of Safety field captures to understand failure modes and their effects. Findings from these efforts will inform design and field actions, crucial to meeting standing international (and Apple internal) requirements. • You will gather and drive the collection of time-sensitive field data essential to informing executive decision-making. This data will drive both field and design activities critical to Apple’s strategic objectives and bottom line. • You will develop project schedules and drive associated priorities and actions needed to ensure the on-time completion of deliverables and achievement of milestones. You will also conduct capacity and resource planning needed for the effective execution of Safety testing and analytical efforts. • You are comfortable with communicating across teams and delivering executive updates and to enable rapid decision-making within Apple’s product development life cycle. • Respond to critical issues and short-fused tasking or investigations needed to resolve time-sensitive issues or emergent requirements • Drive FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis) activities with cross-functional teams to identifying potential Safety risks and associated mitigations/solutions to address them • Manage key project management collaborative, tracking, and communications tools and systems; administer (and innovate on) the effective use of those systems to ensure established processes are followed • Review Safety test plans and process checklists to ensure necessary coverage of key validations and certification requirements • Support Safety leadership in managing engineering budgets and resource planning across fiscal years

Education & Experience

• B.S. or M.S. Engineering or Technical degree- 4+ years of experience in a related field or industry
