Apple’s Global Business Solutions (GBS) organization supports tens of thousands of Apple employees, customers and vendors on just about every topic under the sun. We offer advice and develop innovative solutions to challenging problems that come up all around the world. The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team supports GBS by designing & building end-to-end automated processes within our Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and Procure-to-Pay finance functions along with Payroll, Stock and Travel. We are looking for an expert RPA Development Lead to support the roll out of a platform (Redwood) that interacts directly with SAP FICO and drives workflow automation. This role is a technical leadership position that combines regular software development and facilitating a virtual development team spread across our global sites. This position is based in Austin, TX.

Key Qualifications

  • RPA design and development in the Finance and Accounting space
  • Extensive experience in an established code review process
  • Experience building and maintaining a large and complex codebase with a team
  • Ability to lead projects throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Strong hands-on technical experience: Python, PHP, SQL, JAVA, GitHub, etc.
  • SAP knowledge of the FI/CO module and related integration with MM, PP, PM and SD as plus
  • Support of production applications
  • General understanding SOX/Key Control activities
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Experience with RPA technology and methodology
  • SAP training or similar software training education
  • Direct people management experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel International and domestic periodically (less than 20%)

Description

• Establish development standards and best practices for process automation within the RPA platform (Redwood) • Provide technical leadership, vision, management, and mentoring for multiple RPA software engineering teams, including third party vendors • Gain a sound understanding of our RPA development environment, identify technology gaps and lead projects to close those gaps • Lead and participate in the design, development, and testing of all automations • Ensure best practice adoption and usage throughout the development process, including proper execution of exception handling, metric reporting, use of global bots, and other techniques • Partner with Analysts to ensure documentation of development requirements and proposed RPA process solutions are complete • Lead technical design meetings to document development plans for bots and review code for in-progress and completed bots • Build and maintain automation development schedule; brief the project lead on a regular basis to track completion of automation targets • Manage and run automations in production, including monitoring and support • Participate in defect triage and work with project team to resolve prioritized defect fixes • Effective and timely communication to key partners and leadership regarding project updates, system impacts and critical issues • Ensure the accuracy and security of confidential information in a SOX-compliant environment

Education & Experience

• Technical bachelor’s degree background with 8–10 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
