The Mac Platform team in Core OS is looking for a talented and inspired engineering manager to lead the Silicon and Platform bring-up of new generations of silicon destined for Mac Products. The team is responsible in all phases of Software delivery of Apple’s Mac based products, from silicon conception until ramp to mass production. You will work with the SoC design team to help define features of new silicon, secure boot architecture, and delivery as well as bring-up of all new silicon. You will bring-up new Mac based HW, deliver platform device drivers and help debug and solve complex system level issues from prototype to production. This is a highly multi-functional and visible role, you will be directly involved in decisions that affect every future Mac system. The position requires a very technical and hands-on leader, experience in working closely with silicon and hardware teams and a deep understanding of bare metal software. You are a highly self-motivated individual who creates a dynamic and creative team environment in which problems are solved in new and innovative ways.
- Experience leading a firmware or silicon/systems software development team
- Direct experience with silicon technologies, firmware, device driver, and kernel-level development
- Strong understanding of hardware design as it relates to firmware and operating systems
- Evidence of driving technical innovation
- Consistent record of successful and timely product delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
The Mac Silicon Bring-up Manager leads the day-to-day Silicon and Platform bring-up of new silicon architecture from product architecture definition through establishing silicon stability on Mac products. This team works closely with silicon partners, architecture, hardware and cross-functional software teams to bring-up silicon, platform, and associated technologies. Primary job responsibilities include: Leading a development team supporting silicon, platform and technology development. Managing technical relationships with several internal partners and third-party vendors. Identifying and vocalizing risks areas during silicon and technology development. Promoting a team culture that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity. Strengthening the team by hiring and retaining top-tier engineering talent.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, EE or equivalent industry experience required
