You will be responsible for working on development of world class electrical test instrumentation and product test station for Apple’s products. You will work collaboratively with creative and diverse team of experienced engineers from all disciplines including software, electrical, mechanical, developing state-of- the-art electrical test and measurement systems for use in Apple’s NPI/MP Product Mfg partners. You will also be responsible for maintaining the electronic lab with required equipment and supplies. You are an experienced EE Technician with good prototyping and PCBA rework and debugging skills for this position.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience in small engineering labs

  • PCBA Rework and Debug skills (soldering tools skills for reworking QFN package IC-s, down to 0201 discrete components)
  • Comfortable with working on OSX based Apple or Unix computers and using a command line interface (CLI)
  • Basic understanding of analog/digital circuits, schematics PCB layout, Fab and assembly.


Lab Setup: Perform simple solder / de-solder / miscellaneous PCBA cut traces and blue wire rework to get ICs / circuit boards / products to work for test / characterization / DOE purposes. Develop/maintain manual test set ups using commonly available lab equipments to execute a given test plan. Use Labview or similar tools to automate the test setups when needed. Perform testing or debug of boards using software tools (GUI as wells as CLI based) and python based scripts. Familiarity with creating/modifying python scripts would be a plus. Operate/maintain electrical characterization equipment such as scopes, meters (DMM, Temperature), power supplies, and electronic loads. Analyze test data in spreadsheet ( ie excel), present data in clear manner in bug reports and email. Plan and maintain lab facilities for optimal efficiency. Budgeting, quotations, ordering of key equipment, asset tagging, management of equipment including inventory tracking. Create new processes when necessary. Champion safety, security and quality. Facilitating Lab inspections and following through with corrective actions. Organize and maintain stock of critical components test equipment for rapid prototyping/testing. Troubleshooting Assist engineers in board level trouble shooting failures to root cause. Responsible for communicating test equipment troubleshooting observations and results in a concise manner. Familiar with simple I2C communication tools for board level debug. Communications and Work Ethic: Ability to complete task in time Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Good written and verbal skills Self-starter with excellent time management skills and entrepreneurial spirit. Manage multiple demanding deadlines. Be able to work across multiple teams to get things done.

Education & Experience

Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
