Apple Global Security is seeking an experienced senior level system and storage engineer to support our global hardware and application infrastructure. The senior system engineer will be responsible for planning, installing, administrating and maintaining systems OS, storage and backups plus related application to ensure stable performance of the computing environment. You will also be working directly with project managers, customers (internal Business Units) and vendors to gather IT requirements. Part of the responsibility includes Infrastructure design decision during the project planning phase.

Key Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience administering Linux and Windows servers
  • 5 years of experience administering MySQL or Microsoft SQL Databases
  • 5 years of experience managing multi datacenter/location VMware vCenter environment
  • 5 years of experience managing network storage such as NetApp or Pure
  • In depth knowledge of network services
  • In depth knowledge of backup management architecture and policy
  • Experience with Cisco UCS hardware preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and prioritize/handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously

Description

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide administration functions for a mixed servers environment (Windows, Linux and OS X), including project planning, systems design, performance management and capacity planning Analyze hardware and software problems, recommends solutions, and performs necessary system repairs Provide backup administration functions, to include settling the best backup options, schedules and applications; setting up backup processes and verification processes; perform failure monitoring and recovery procedures Preform quarterly system & application updates and security patches Have the ability to work in a dynamic environment independently and within a team setting running multiple priorities and deadlines on a global level Work with both technical and non-technical client including various internal customers Be flexible with their work hours as some of our work can only be preformed outside of regular business hours

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
