The Camera Systems Engineering group is responsible for the simulation, calibration and analysis of camera modules. Our calibration procedures guarantee excellent performance by compensating for manufacturing variations. The team is seeking an extraordinary color scientist or measurement engineer to develop the models, apparatus, and methods necessary to implement the next generation of color calibration technology.

Key Qualifications

  • Expertise in color science, including color measurement, analysis and perceptual interpretation
  • Expertise in measurement science and ability to relate measurement accuracy to international standards and fundamental physics
  • Experience with calibration and correction algorithms and procedures
  • Experience with measurement automation
  • Familiarity with spectrometers, monochrometers and machine vision cameras
  • Exposure to optical concepts, optical design and camera technology
  • Broad knowledge of engineering concepts (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, software, data analysis, modeling)
  • Proficiency in Matlab and familiarity with Python (knowledge of C and Objective-C would be beneficial)
  • Good organization and solid writing skills
  • Great interpersonal skills - with ability to collaborate across groups


- Be responsible for color measurement and interpretation - Perform systems-level analysis and simulation of physical systems - Develop algorithms, procedures and test systems - Conduct accuracy analysis using tolerance stack and Monte Carlo methods - Design test system prototypes, including hardware, firmware and software - Calibrate instruments including use of master and transfer standards - Automate measurement procedures (Matlab, Python, etc.) - Analyze large data sets to validate system performance (JMP, etc.) - Define, document, publish and maintain the systems architectures and system specifications for calibration procedures - Manage project deliverables and schedules to meet commitments to product development teams

Education & Experience

BS/MS/PhD in a relevant field (Color Science, EE, CS, Physics, Optical Engineering)
