- 4+ years of experience in technology development of mass production consumer products.
- 2+ years of management experience leading small teams of engineers.
- Track record of working closely with cross functional teams to deliver hardware (PD, Mech, FW, SW).
- Experience in EE, ME, Thermals & Physics principles via design / modeling of complex multi-disciplinary systems.
- Strong background in Power systems technology development & product and system integration.
- Proficiency in - MATLAB, SPICE or other simulation / modeling tools, Python or other scripting languages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills.
Engineering Manager Responsibilities: Lead a team responsible for Wireless Power systems Architecture,, design and integration from proof-of-concept to mass production. Keep up with bleeding-edge Wireless Power technologies that are key in enabling new experiences Champion interesting new Wireless Power experiences and technologies to promote interest within Apple Communicate progress of ongoing projects with leadership and other teams within Apple Recruit and train talented engineers to build a world-class Wireless Power Technology and Systems team Build a fun and creative group dynamic which continues to grow and inspire Scaling to leadership at Apple begins through a demonstration of proficiency as an individual contributor - integrating amongst the Apple teams, showcasing a deep understanding of the design philosophies & priorities, and establishing credibility cross-functionally as a Wireless Power Systems Architect. Wireless Power System Development Responsibilities: Conceptualize and architect Wireless Power technologies to demonstrate new compelling features, user experiences and products. Feature definition, development & negotiation of cross-functional requirements for module & system performance Design based on requirements, analyze and author detailed Wireless Power module architecture specs Develop and maintain comprehensive, cross-functional Wireless Power system models for simulations Analyze engineering and production data sets in order to reconcile with simulations of the models Develop advanced algorithms with the FW team and optimize mechanical design tradeoffs with PD Author regular technical comms for x-functional briefings & exec comms for key development checkpoints Drive, review and oversee schematic design and layout of boards and flexible circuits through fabrication Business travel to support product development / factory prototype builds Manage technical development with cross-functional teams to develop & deliver state-of-the-art Wireless Power Systems - including Mechanical Engineering, Firmware Engineering and Thermal Engineering teams
Education & Experience
M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or industry experience equivalent.
