This position requires someone comfortable will all aspects of RF system architecture, that thrives in a dynamic multi-functional organization, is not afraid to debate ideas openly, and is flexible enough to pivot on constantly evolving requirements. This role will allow working with platform architects, RF SW and FW groups, digital design group to define the requirements for RF and baseband blocks based on the system requirement, design calibration algorithms and define the specifications for digital front-end blocks inside RF IP enabling better radio performance at reduced cost, and keeping up with 3GPP standard evolutions and work with multi-functional teams to address any new requirements in upcoming projects.
- The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of RFIC systems experience in developing commercial radio standards for high volume mass production.
- Direct experience crafting and bringing into mass production, ZIF RF transceivers in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology, specifically for commercial mobile radio standards. This includes design of calibration methods associated with such high performance wireless systems and ZIF designs.
Deep understanding in system specification and able to work with system architects to translate system requirement into circuit requirement at IC level. Deep understanding of impact of modulation type to radio architecture and requirements, for instance GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G NR. Familiar with various RF transceiver architectures and their trade-offs; Demonstrate the capability to work with digital design group and RF SW/FW groups for an optimum partition between digital and analog domain; Knowledge of DSP and digital front-end design for wireless communication systems Detailed understanding of RF calibration techniques such as RSB calibration, LOFT calibration, Digital Pre-distortion and IP2 calibration. Understanding of RF front-end architectures, RF components (PA/LNA/Switches/Filters etc…) for a wide range of frequencies (700MHz to mmW). Extensive experience in system characterization and debug at platform level.
Education & Experience
BSEE is required. MSEE/Ph.D is preferred.
