Key Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of product safety/compliance engineering experience with high tech products
  • Highly experienced in developing and driving machine safety programs
  • Strong knowledge in product safety regulations (IEC 61010, NFPA 79, CE)
  • Laser product safety experience highly desirable (FDA/CDRH, IEC 60825)
  • Experience performing electro-optical test
  • Experience conducting FMEA and Safety Fault Tree Analysis (desirable)
  • Technical writing, data analytics/statistics and ability to build and execute presentations

Description

The Product Compliance Engineer will focus on developing safety requirements for new equipment (electrical, mechanical, chemical). In addition, assist teams to identify applicable product safety regulations associated with equipment being specified, designed, purchased for R&D or production in-house or at CM facilities. OVERVIEW OF ROLE: Work with teams on design reviews and early evaluation of incoming machinery Identify lab/permit requirements ahead of equipment delivery Create on-going equipment/lab review process to ensure continued compliance Develop auditing tools, metrics and means of scheduling, tracking and equipment audits Ensure long-term retention for checklist, permits, approvals, etc. Assist with new laser installations (lab planning, OK2USE approvals, design reviews) Engage HWE teams on personnel safety as part of experimentation, user studies, development, build and testing Support FDA/CDRH and FAA reporting Work closely with lab owners, develop test plans, and perform optical testing Provide additional team capacity to support laser lab inspections Supports transition of new acquisitions into Apple Performs site risk assessments, mitigation, move and re-mediation planning Determines support needs against project time lines and develops project plans Potentially serve as EHS site DRI through transitions as needed

Education & Experience

Prefer: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual who can think strategically and stay connected to our customers.
