Our data live in a secure, complex environment where you will be interacting with rich health and activity data continuously generated from sensors and other watch features. As a data scientist on the team you will have direct and immediate impact on the products we are creating and will have unique insights that will drive strategy and focus.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years in data science or analytics
  • Technical expertise working with big data and unstructured datasets
  • Comprehensive experience working w/ HDFS, Spark, Python, and SQL in command line
  • Product analytics experience at a major technology company
  • Strong product, data, and analytics intuition
  • Background in experimental design and causality
  • Comfortable applying various modeling techniques on big data, including statistical and econometric models as well as supervised and unsupervised ML
  • Intensely curious about data and love finding hidden relationships and patterns
  • Passionate about health and behavioral economics
  • Strong cross-functional experience working with product, business, design, and engineering teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience boiling down technical approaches and complex findings into simple and compelling narratives that drive change

Description

As a key member of the Health Strategic Initiatives team you will work hand in hand with product and design teams. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of fascinating problems that will help mold Apple’s future health endeavors. A few areas you may explore include understanding behavior change, quantifying the impact of incentives, exploring the impact of product features on engagement and healthy actions, experimental design and analysis, creating and defining KPIs, and predicting outcomes. Education & Experience

Masters (PhD preferred) in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent and 5+ years of experience
