As part of the Interactive Media Group (IMG), Apple’s GPU Software team provides the graphics software foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and Watch. The GPU Software teams responsibilities encompass the frameworks, developer tools, and hardware drivers for the GPU and Display devices on all of Apple’s hardware. This team recently announced Metal 2 which provides near-direct access to the graphics processing unit (GPU), enabling you to improve the graphics and compute potential of apps on iOS, macOS, and tvOS & wachtOS. As part of the Engineering Project management group at Apple you will partner with the GPU Software team to lead projects in this technology area. GPU SW's Metal Ecosystem team is now seeking a world-class, driven, and dedicated project manager to manage complex programs that involve delivering Metal integration into iOS and macOS applications. You will need the ability to build strong relationships and have a laser focus on execution. As the EPM you will be constantly looking to improve and learn. - You will have demonstrated leadership on major cross-functional projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
- Proven ability to quickly understand technical concepts in a wide range of fieldsGreat organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get all things done
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Atleast 2 years of project management experience or served as a technical producer or a development director
- Experience in Graphics and/or game industry & 3rd party interaction is a huge plus
Provide hands on project management across various cross-functional initiatives for a successful integration of Metal for iOS and macOS applications Track high priority external developer bugs, feature requests that align with the competing release schedule’s & aggressive deadlines Understand developer needs and champion these needs into tools, features and capabilities Work with Engineering partners to manage the Ecosystem roadmap, priorities, scoping & timelines Develop high-quality tooling and documentation to ease and inspire further Metal adoption and scale across large set of developers Drive internal and external process improvements as necessary for a successful adoption of the tools and technologies Provide executive updates on Metal adoption, the competitive landscape, and the usage ecosystem
Education & Experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
