Apple is looking for an intern with strong non-linear finite element skills to join its biomechanics simulation team. The biomechanics simulation team is responsible to develop innovative methods and solutions to support Apple’s product design. The intern in this role will serve as a focal point in the setup, execution, and validation of non-linear finite element models. You will need to be a logical problem-solver, effective communicator, a self starter, and highly motivated.
- Solid fundamental knowledge of computational mechanics
- Hands-on experience in finite element analysis
- Knowledge on material modeling
- Scripting experience (Python preferred, but not required)
- Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated to solve problems
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Work closely with the biomechanics team to create and analyze finite element models at the intersection of the human body and mechanical design. Work with the product design team to evaluate biomechanics aspects of new designs. Develop and implement new methods for biomechanics simulation. Drive and improve existing simulation tools. Periodic updates through presentation and written reports to senior management and Executives.
Education & Experience
Pursuing PhD and majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, or related discipline.
