Design, develop, and launch next-generation Sensor Technologies in Apple products. The Sensor Technology team develops sensor solutions and technologies for Apple’s products, including the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBooks, and more. Key Qualifications

  • Multi-disciplinary understanding of EE, ME, and Physics principles
  • Familiarity with mechanical design principles, FEA, and advanced materials
  • Proven working proficiency in algorithms development / signal processing as applied to sensor systems
  • Previous experience in modeling complex cross-disciplinary systems
  • Experience with sensor technologies
  • Experience with statistical tolerance analysis in a production setting is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with collaboration and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in COMSOL, Maxwell, or similar FEA tools
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling / scripting tools
  • Strong EE fundamentals and experience with analog/mixed signal design is a plus


Key Responsibilities: •You will develop and maintain comprehensive, multi-functional sensor system models to inform design decisions •You will work on a cross disciplinary team for feature definition, block-level simulation, and spec authorship of sensor modules •You will propose and negotiate cross-functional requirements to guarantee module performance •Development of detailed module architecture specifications based on first principles analysis and complex engineering trade-offs •Analyze engineering and production data sets in order to reconcile system models with real-world measurements •Collaborate with the firmware and algorithm teams to develop advanced algorithms to ensure module performance meets the user experience requirements •Work closely with the mechanical engineering team in optimizing material and mechanical design trade-offs •Author regular technical communication for executive and cross-functional briefings •Design analysis, characterization, and validation of complex sensor systems •Business travel to support product development in a dynamic debugging and analysis environment

Education & Experience

M.S. + 5 or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or industry experience equivalent
