In this hands-on role, you will investigate the underlying physical effects of optical sensors systems and contribute to their integrated optics design. You will collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team on optical technology. You will take advantage of your experimental skills and comprehensive understanding of optical physics.

Key Qualifications

  • Hands-on optics/photonics laboratory experience
  • Some exposure to optical design (e.g raytracing)
  • Programming experience in Matlab or Python is a definite plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Coursework in electromagnetism, optics, and photonics


As an Optical Scientist Intern, you will have the following responsibilities: Conduct hands-on experiments to characterize the underlying physical effects for novel optical systems Design, implement, and maintain optical test setups and test procedures Use your skills in data analysis and optical simulation to propose design improvements based on experimental results Work in a team and contribute to the implementation of next generation photonics devices

Education & Experience

Pursuing PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, EE, or related field, is required
