The Austin Facilities team is looking for a HVAC/Electric focused Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds. They perform skilled trades work, such as construction, repair or alteration of structures, equipment and fixtures. The position will be on site in Austin, Texas.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working in a dynamic multi-facility environment, with a focus on providing the best possible service to a demanding group of customers
- Proven ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain high levels of productivity without direct supervision
- Wide experience performing a variety of HVAC and building repairs
- Strong customer service and problem solving aptitude
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide direction to contractors and vendors performing services for the company
- Able to learn quickly, work autonomously, and address any issues that arise day or night
- Detail oriented
- A willingness to provide on-call support in case of emergencies or other off-hours issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
You will be an integral part of our Facilities team for the installation or repair of HVAC, wiring, and plumbing as required. Coordinating with facilities in monitoring and analyzing data to assist in making recommendations. You will make periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine if any other repair work is necessary. You will work from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches. Responsibilities include: - Provides assistance and/or performs in the maintenance and repair of building equipment and infrastructure critical to the operation of the site to include, but not limited to: CRAC, HVAC, and their associated subsystems; UPS, Static Switch, PDU, and associated electrical distribution systems; standby generator systems; building fire alarm and fire suppression systems; domestic and wastewater plumbing systems; interior and exterior lighting systems; interior and exterior structural elements; building interior and exterior personnel entryways and their associated hardware; commercial docks and their associated systems; site recycling equipment and their associated subsystems. - Performs periodic inspections of building infrastructure and equipment. - Initiates, assigns, completes, and closes out work orders through the CMMS. - Interacts with internal customers in the performance of assigned work orders. - Works with the site’s Building Management System to monitor critical plant systems and make recommendations to the Operations Manager on changes to equipment operational status. - Participates on major projects, completes individual projects on a limited basis, and coordinates activities of outside contractors; to ensure projects, preventative and corrective maintenance are completed on time and correctly. - Orders parts needed for projects and maintenance repairs. - Respond to emergencies including nights and weekends when on call to correct unsafe or hazardous conditions.
Education & Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required.
