The Special Project Group at Apple is currently seeking a Radar Signal Processing Engineer Engineer to join our Hardware group in Sunnyvale, CA. Apple is looking for an experienced signal processing engineer with a background of applications in Radar or other imaging sensor modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, etc.) The Special Projects Group is developing next-generation Apple technologies that will shape the future. - Experience developing and testing algorithms that handle data from sensor arrays
- Solid understanding of statistics, estimation theory, Fourier transforms
- Solid understanding of DSP fundamentals and hardware-aware design tradeoffs
- Experience developing in MATLAB
- Experience with classical radar techniques (SAR processing, CFAR, Kalman filtering, SLAM)
- Experience with high-resolution techniques (compressive sensing, adaptive beamformers, MIMO, subspace methods)
- Experience with machine learning techniques
- Experience in C/C++ and Python
To succeed within this role, you should have solid experience in several of the following areas and will be responsible for: - Conception and development of signal processing techniques for imaging using millimeter-wave radar sensors. - Working with internal customers to identify requirements, implement solutions, and communicate potential impacts. - Signal modeling and simulation tasks would include: physical system modeling, modulation scheme design, simulation of hardware-induced non-idealities, and concept development of next-generation sensor signal processing. - Signal processing tasks would include: design, implementation, and test of sensor signal processing algorithms, development of tracking algorithms, compression of data product, visualization of data, and identification and extraction of novel signal features. - A strong self-starter capable of identifying and demonstrating techniques to enhance system performance with minimal supervision. - Interface in a cross-functional manner with collaborators spanning software, hardware, and system spaces.
Education & Experience
Masters or Bachelor’s with 5+ years experience. Degrees in Electrical Engineering and/or other technical focus areas relevant to signal processing.
