The Crypto Services team at Apple is responsible for protecting one the most sensitive pieces of data you can think of - cryptographic keys. On top of this foundation, the team provides highly-available, fault-tolerant PKI and encryption APIs that are used across various services within Apple to protect sensitive information.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years of management experience leading a SW development team
  • Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with SW development and lifecycle management
  • Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills
  • Experience deploying services at scale
  • A security-first mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills


The team is seeking a software development manager who will be responsible for building and leading a team involved in the development of security systems that underpin a large number of Apple's products. The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. The ability to work as a team player is critical, as this hands-on position requires cross functional collaboration with engineers across domains. Experience leading a SW development team, as well as a proven track record of bringing products to market are essential to this role. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead a team of high-performing SW engineers - Consult with external teams, advising on security best practices and appropriate system integrations - Collaborate effectively with teams cross functionally to ensure the successful delivery of software on aggressive schedules

Education & Experience

BS/MS CS/EE (preferred) or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with applied cryptography (Encryption, Digital Signatures)
  • Deep understanding of PKI
  • Current with industry trends and potential threats
  • Familiar with network design and troubleshooting
