Privacy Compliance Engineer
Santa Clara Valley (Cupertino), California, United States
Privacy is a topic of global interest that cuts across platforms, architectures, and cultures. The EU passed a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which defines new rights and requirements which are relevant to every company collecting data, Apple included. We are looking for an accomplished candidate to join Apple’s User Privacy team, working throughout the company, focused on compliance with the EU Regulation.
- Passion for user privacy
- Knowledge of software programming
- Great at both collaboration and independent problem solving
- Superb written communication skills
- Ability to track and manage numerous parallel activities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
You will work across Apple's product lines and participate in external discussions on the technical implementation of the new rights details in the GDPR. In collaboration with technical experts in their products and Apple’s legal counsel, you will analyze existing systems and processes against the GDPR requirements and architect changes when needed to improve compliance with the Regulation. Particular responsibilities will include development of privacy impact assessments, technical risk analyses, and facilitating clarifications to the engineering aspects of the Regulation. You will be working on multiple unrelated topics in any given week, so the ability to learn quickly and an excitement for new things is a must. Ideal candidates will have prior experience with technical compliance (e.g. ISO standards) or public technology policy.
