The Distribution Center Operations New Product Introduction Lead (DC Ops NPI Lead) is focused on planning and executing a product launch through Apple’s third-party distribution centers to Apple’s Online, Retail, and Reseller channels in the Americas for all lines of business. The DC Ops NPI Lead will prepare Apple’s distribution centers for launch and then seamlessly transition to execution to ensure the overall success of the launch from a DC fulfillment perspective. In this role, you will represent the voice of the NPI process within Apple’s distribution centers to the broader Logistics organization and to the various internal planning teams. You will be responsible for partnering with the distribution centers as well as Logistics Readiness, Inbound, Outbound, Security, Supply/Demand, Reseller Operations, and Retail teams to plan and deliver a successful launch. You will be the focal point for developing, implementing and running critical NPI processes and tools pertinent to the distribution centers.

Key Qualifications

  • Six to eight years Operations experience, preferably in a high tech or computer-related industry
  • Supply Chain experience and detailed knowledge from a tangible product consumer goods background; prior experience in logistics (warehouse management/inbound/outbound), inventory management, new product introductions, product planning, project management, production control, manufacturing operations
  • Think strategically and execute tactically

Description

- Collaborate closely with the DC capacity planner to develop a capacity plan to fulfill all demand for Online, Retail, and Reseller channels within the timeline specified by the launch strategy - Coordinate receipt of inbound shipments - Develop outbound shipment plans - Confirm adherence to security protocols - Understand and communicate the launch strategy in terms of products, timing, countries, etc. - Understand and consider Retail and Reseller requirements to develop fulfillment plan - Establish systems readiness by confirming integrity of various data feeds to the DCs - Work with senior leaders and functional experts to understand logistical challenges and processes - Identify, communicate and manage logistical risks - Act as a key point of contact for all DC NPI-related activities - Play a leadership role to ensure DC adherence to commitments - Manage and drive all DC escalations to resolution - Monitor, track, and report on DC performance - Supply appropriate daily execution reporting as requested - Gather and disseminates information to internal partners needed to make decisions and drive the business - Drive process improvements, automation, documentation, operational metrics, and reporting

Education & Experience

- BA/BS Required - MBA Desirable - PMP certification a plus
