In this role, you will work to test and optimize performance across all aspects of Mac hardware (CPU, GPU, DRAM, storage), software (OS, drivers, application), and other system characteristics (thermals, power, acoustics). Key Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge in performance analysis, computer architecture and OS concepts
  • Experience in analyzing various operating systems and driver performance is desired; experience in power, thermal, acoustics aspects of performance is a plus
  • Good coding skills in Python to support framework, automation and tool development
  • Experience in test planning, uncovering problem areas, debugging/triaging and driving optimizations
  • Ability to dive deep technically and understand the technical nuances of a system
  • Strong communication skills

Description

- Collect and analyze performance data on Mac and competitor HW/SW - Uncover problem areas, perform root cause analysis and analyze competitors to identify performance optimizations - Drive optimizations by collaborating and presenting findings to cross-functional teams, including senior management - Identify gaps in coverage and methodologies, define new tests and tools, and help design/develop framework and tool improvements

Education & Experience

- BSEE/CS or equivalent experience
