The Video Engineering Incubation team creates the prototypes that turn into amazing user experiences, enhancing the lives of people around the world. The projects are complex, and the challenges are not limited to technology, but discovering features that could be brought to the high Apple standard. As part of this group, you'll be a dedicated and passionate about Computer Vision, Graphics, Augmented Reality, and 3D Reconstruction. You will have the chance to create novel user experiences and applications for the next generation of camera technology, and you'll be part of a team pushing the boundaries of technology and experiences that have yet to be discovered.

Key Qualifications

  • Computer vision expert with working knowledge of photogrammetry, 3D reconstruction, SfM, SLAM or related areas
  • Experienced in C/C++
  • Excellent software engineering skills with the intuition to make a meaningful impact/effort tradeoff required for quick prototyping
  • Flexibility to pick up new skills as required
  • Passion and drive for developing real-time algorithms and high fidelity user experience prototypes

As part of our team you will be working with Apple’s most advanced prototypes. Our investigations involve technologies like depth sensors, computational photography, and Augmented / Virtual Reality - just to name a few. RESPONSIBILITIES - Technical leadership in your area of expertise, see your project through from ideation to execution - Implement advanced computer vision algorithms - start with a proof of concept, fine-tune and optimize as the project evolves - Work with other software and design teams to iterate and inform design choices, including software architecture, visual appearance, and user experience

Education & Experience

MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields

Additional Requirements

  • - Experience with shaders for real-time 3D applications (e.g. OpenGL / Metal)
  • - iOS experience (Objective C, Swift)
  • - Previous experience with 3D game engines like Unity or Unreal
  • - Experience with applications of Deep Learning in 3D Reconstruction or Photogrammetry
  • - Working knowledge of meshing and surface reconstruction methods
