The Hardware Technology CSG (Compute & Storage Group) Network Intern will assist the team in planning and implementing IPv6 networking for the out-of-band (IPMI/iLo) server connections within a datacenter environment. You will have experience with network gear (Arista or Cisco experience preferred) and deploying IPv6 services such as DNS and DHCP.

Key Qualifications

  • Basic experience with routing and switch on platforms such as Cisco or Arista
  • Basic experience working in Linux
  • Understanding of IPv4/IPv6 technologies and basic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
  • Firewall and ACL experience are a bonus
  • Basic scripting in languages such as Python are a bonus
  • Knowledge of common application protocols like DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, SNMP, NTP
  • Knowledge of revision control software
  • Strong documentation and communication skills


In this role, you will: Lead the way in designing and implementing IPv6 networking for our datacenter out-of-band server connectivity. Have access to our network lab where you can safely test any implementation designs you choose. Become familiar with Arista routers primarily as well as some Nexus and Cisco ASR routers. Thoroughly document and present your final design to the team and upper management.

Education & Experience

Currently enrolled in a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer or equivalent. Any network certifications held is a plus (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, ACE-A).
