This person will own the supply, planning and overall performance of the iPad product line for AppleCare.

Key Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of forecasting, planning, purchasing, inventory or related experience
  • Excellent knowledge or expertise in forecasting, demand planning, Inventory management and supply chain management
  • Solid analytical skills combined with business insight to make operational decisions on the fly
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence executive management
  • Experience with any MRP planning software solutions such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Proven background leading additional projects and initiatives while delivering on strategic programs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Experience in Electronic product Service Supply Chain a strong plus
  • APICS certification is preferred

Description

You will act as a focal point in the communication and execution of product demand and supply plan to meet AppleCare’s overall goals. A successful candidate has strong analytical skills, a collaborative and proactive attitude, and the ability to think broadly and to be able to work with senior managers and planners. This position requires strong knowledge and experience in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization. You are also skillful at collaborating cross-functionally to achieve outstanding customer service in a dynamic environment. - Responsible for AppleCare iPad Supply planning for WW and AMR regions - Responsible for key performance metrics such as backlog, fill rate, inventory turn, and vendor forecast accuracy - Analyze forecasted demand, inventory, develop weekly supply plans that meet customer demands and that meet AppleCare’s target of fill rate, while minimizing total inventory cost - Execute weekly plans optimally to minimize future gaps and maximize inventory turns - Analyze and set system parameters to optimize inventory and meet service level goals while minimizing costs - Maintain and update MRP master data for planning parts at various plants. Also responsible for initiating Engineering Change requests based on material life cycle - Run "what if" simulations to optimize material/capacity constraints while minimizing impact to customer satisfaction - Analyze and resolve product backlogs, fill rates daily. Identify problem areas and drive appropriate functional groups to correct - Work closely with internal teams such as WW SDM and Factory Ops teams to ensure sufficient capacity and materials to meet supply requirements - Coordinate weekly conference calls with Europe and APAC teams to sync on supply-demand matching regionally and globally - Publish weekly OEM forecast; ensure deltas and gaps are clearly communicated and bridged - Lead system enhancements and work with key business partners and IT to implement continuous system improvements - Oversee key cross-functional projects, communicate project timelines and impacts to the team, be the liaison between supply planning team and other cross functional teams and IT project managers. - Less than 10% travel expected

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Business, Supply Chain Management, Math, Engineering, or Logistics is preferred Or a Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Math, Engineering or Logistics with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
