The Camera Systems Engineering Group is responsible for the systems-level analysis, design, and development of new camera features and technologies for performance enhancement. The team is seeking an exceptional systems engineer with broad skills to lead research and development projects.

Key Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of engineering concepts (device behavior, data analysis, and systems modeling)
  • Expertise in data analysis and signal processing in Matlab and/or Python
  • Expertise in defining/documenting system level requirements and defining/executing system
  • and subsystem level tests/analysis to validate overall system performance
  • Expertise in digital camera and optics technology
  • Experience managing project schedules
  • Experience designing/performing laboratory experiments for camera testing
  • Familiarity with firmware and FPGA development
  • Familiarity with image signal processing pipelines
  • Familiarity with big data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with CMOS image sensors technology
  • Familiarity with analog and digital electronics
  • Great interpersonal skills - the ability to collaborate across groups
  • Self-motivated, able to lead projects independently

Description

Duties include performing the systems-level analysis and modeling of imaging and sensing systems, the design and construction of prototypes to guide systems development and assess user impact, and the definition of system level tests for parametric specifications. Candidates should be highly skilled in several of these areas: • Performing systems-level analysis and modeling of imaging and sensing systems using Matlab and/or Python • Defining and documenting systems architecture, requirements, use case analysis, and tests for camera features and technologies • Creating subsystem specifications by analyzing/modeling/characterizing electrical, optical, and optoelectronic components • Defining subsystem and system level tests to characterize and/or guarantee parametric specifications and system level performance • Designing and performing laboratory experiments and documenting the results • Using computer control (Matlab, Python, LabView, VEE, etc.) to automate repetitive measurements • Compiling and analyzing data from multiple sources to gain insight into user behavior • Managing project deliverables and schedules to meet commitments to product development teams • Discovering and tracking external technology development by suppliers, competitors, and academicians

Education & Experience

BS/MS/PhD in a relevant field (EE, ME, CS, or Physics) or equivalent
