The IMG Audio team is looking for a highly-motivated engineer with a deep technical background in audio & acoustic signal processing contribute to future features for ARKit, RealityKit, and spatial audio. You will have a research background in spatial audio algorithm development (binaural audio, HOA, beamforming, upmixing, spatial panning, room simulation, etc.), and prior experience with product development.

Key Qualifications

  • We're looking for prior research experience in audio algorithm development (patents, papers, etc.)
  • Specific experience with development of spatial audio algorithms
  • Working knowledge of physical acoustics and psychoacoustics
  • Familiarity with common software engineering practices and version control
  • Fluency in C, C++, and MATLAB
  • Solid work experience with realtime audio systems
  • Critical listening skills

Description

The Interactive Media Group (IMG) is at the center of Apple’s innovative products, including the Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. The work done in IMG Audio directly impacts the end user experience through high profile features such as Telephony, FaceTime, Siri, media playback, and audio/video capture. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL - Develop spatial audio algorithms to support new features in ARKit, RealityKit, and future frameworks - Productize the features on Apple’s hugely popular devices - Participate in a large scale software engineering process - Demonstrate creative problem solving - Work closely with other team members and multi-functional partners
