As a Consumer Insights and Strategy Leader, you will establish a roadmap for mining, measuring and analyzing consumer trends in order to share insights that will deliver impactful intelligence to our Sales organization to drive increased performance. This includes responsibility for optimizing sales output and productivity across a multi-billion dollar business by supporting the sales planning, sales analytics, coverage model and supply/allocation decisions, incentives, and key programs. This position can be based in Cupertino, CA or Portland, OR.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in leading Consumer Insights and/or Consumer Analytics teams combined business planning, operations, strategy and/or sales management experience
  • Successful development and deployment of a strategy designed to interpret consumer buying trends to optimize brand performance
  • Ability to approach projects analytically; experience sourcing and commissioning market research and trends to understand patterns and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Ability to lead strategic, technical and operational teams
  • Excellent executive communication experience
  • Creative thinker who enjoys solving complex problems
  • Ability to negotiate priorities between multi-functional teams and make adjustments where needed while still working towards the Apple standard
  • Experience working in a dynamic multi-disciplined environment juggling multiple projects with different priorities
  • Ability to understand and balance the needs of the business

  • Competent in depicting data to create a vision and take partners on a journey through fact based evidence and insights

As the Leader of US Consumer Insights & Strategy, you will work directly with Sales Leadership on the following: Sales Planning: - Own the intelligence on key trends impacting end markets (industry structure, competitive behavior, consumer behavior, ecosystem economics, etc.) - Define implications of current and potential trends/events, and action plans; translate data and insights into action plans that drive impact - Partner with sales leaders to define long-term, annual, and quarterly sales priorities and opportunities - Partner with our corporate market intelligence and research team to analyze and shape an emerging category of shopper and consumer behavior research Sales Performance Analytics: - Run quarterly/weekly dashboards for field and sales leadership; highlight implications and suggest actions for remediation/ improvement - Deliver overall and disaggregated analyses of sales performance (e.g., attainment, growth, growth vs. market/sub-market, share changes) - Lead business planning and business performance reviews (e.g., QBRs, strategy sessions) Coverage Models and Resource Allocation: - Define and implement reseller and account segmentations - Evaluate and optimize coverage models (AEs, SEs, ISO) - account assignments, territory management, etc. - Assess organizational and resource level options; generate ideas for growth and specify their net economic impact

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree required. Masters/MBA preferred.
