The Thermal Design team is currently looking for a highly motivated and self-driven engineer capable of working in the cross-disciplinary domain of thermal management with s strong focus on data analytics. The group's goal is to optimize the user experience for all Apple products as it relates to balancing tradeoffs between performance, power and temperature. There are many different aspects to this task, and the successful applicant will be able to adapt quickly to new challenges, be very attentive to details, work with cross functional teams to identify solutions, and drive implementation.
Key Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of industry experience, having been involved in the optimization of consumer electronic devices. Experience in some of the following fields is required:
- Applied Statistics or Informatics
- Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Large-scale data collection and analysis
- Design of Experiments
- General programming/scripting knowledge including R, Perl, Python, JMP
- Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
- Thermal Management
- Algorithm Development § Operating Systems
- Control Systems
Description
As an engineer working in the Thermal Design team, you will have responsibilities spanning all aspects of system-level trade-offs:
- Perform data collection
- Develop new experiments, test methodologies and automation
- Perform advanced statistical analysis, interpret results, and communicate
effectively with cross functional teams, including software engineering, hardware
engineering, and management
- Work efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously
Education & Experience
MS in CE/CS/ME/EE or equivalent experience
