Apple is looking for an extraordinary Display Panel Quality Engineer Intern (PQE) to help lead the engineering and manufacturing activities to launch next-generation display technologies for the displays in award-winning Apple products. The Display Panel Quality Engineering (PQE) team is responsible for delivering the technologies with high quality products to enable the world’s best display products. In this role, you will play a crucial role: - To develop/improve display panel data analysis tools - To analyze big data for panel process improvement - To lead failure analysis for RC investigation. Key Qualifications

  • Previous course work and understanding in semiconductor, display (such as TFT-LCD and OLED), or equivalent technologies processes
  • In depth knowledges of solid state device physics, display principles, optics, thin-film technologies etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform large data analyses using a variety of software and programming methods, especially in Python, R, MATLAB, Tableau, JMP, or similar
  • Experience with machine learning and forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and react to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a minimum 6 month work term

Description

Review relevant project design, process flow, equipment selection, DFM, and DOE proposals. Identify shortfalls and corrective actions to ensure design compliance. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to map out process development exercises in order to improve yield and commit to schedules in line with program goals. Identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk. Ensure processes and suppliers are performing as expected during production ramp, immediately addressing escalations. Monitor project’s process performance (Cpk) periodically to prevent quality issue. Monitor project’s process performance periodically to prevent quality issues. Develop tools to analyze and project display vendor performance/quality and identify root cause of process excursions. Analyze display related returned failure units, identify process abnormality and excursion, and apply corrective actions accordingly at the supplier level.

Education & Experience

Pursuing a MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related field
