Today at Apple is the brand for all Apple Retail experiential programming, which includes high profile events and performances, daily hands-on educational sessions, kids educational sessions, and more, across all of our 500+ stores worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Head of Programming to join the Today at Apple team. This role will partner closely with the Global Retail Marketing team in Cupertino to ensure the successful implementation of world-class events and retail programming for the Americas region. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of a regional strategy and executional plan, and will lead a team of Heads of Programming, who are responsible for curating and developing culturally relevant programs within key metro areas. As a Senior Leader, this candidate must be someone who can inspire and develop a team, enabling direct reports to perform at their highest potential during a time of growth and change. S/He should be creative and strategic to inspire new ideas and oversee a growing team with the ability to ensure all programming is relevant, innovative, accessible, and empowering for all Apple customers.

  • A deep understanding of market-wide trends, themes and current cultural events
  • A digital thinker with expertise in harnessing social media
  • Deep expertise in event management and experience design. Ability to build and manage all elements of a highly produced experience to extraordinary standards; including:
  • Booking, handling artists, programming and managing external A/V vendors including internal and external production management.
  • Development, positioning and promotion of engagement programming to reach a broad range of consumers
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the community and the ability to discover, recommend and source talent
  • Considered a tastemaker or authority on trends within a community of influencers
  • Very well organized and efficient, with the ability to independently problem solve in realtime while successfully navigating simultaneous large scale executions
  • Collaborative, hands-on attitude with a “what else can I do” and “make it happen” approach to work
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-functional teams in a complex organization
  • Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty, energized by tough decisions
  • Strong understanding and ability to create structure and process to support high level projects
  • Discreet, professional, well-spoken, with excellent collaboration, communication and networking skills
  • Flexible project management style with the ability to quickly adapt and effect change efficiently and quickly
  • 10+ years experience within Events industry
  • Understanding of luxury industry and brand standards, with an inherent creative attitude preferred


Lead an outstanding Today at Apple team for the Americas region. Align with the global Today at Apple team on clear, comprehensive strategies and messaging for store programming that supports and strengthens core marketing strategies. Partner with other regional marketing functions, to achieve consistency and alignment across all categories and initiatives. Inspire them with the vision, and drive them to bring to life the Apple brand story and retail proposition, through programs of culturally significant events. Be an approachable central point of contact for consideration of ideas, concepts and opportunities from local markets and key Apple partners. Support local teams in the development of outreach plans for local events linked to global strategic priorities (e.g. flagship openings, global product launches) to build Retail’s role at the heart of the community. Measure and report on the success of in-store programming against occasion, format, and overall marketing strategy, taking into account objectives and original expectations. Provide consistent programming updates to key partners and cross-functional team of the learning and events strategy. Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners (e.g. cultural institutions; entertainment, art, and design industry professionals; sound, lighting, and A/V vendors). Partner with PR and Today at Apple Marketing teams to ensure programming is promoted through all available channels, and are accessible to diverse community audiences. Analyze, present and act upon feedback to identify ways to enhance the customer experience and programming strategy. Develop plan, track, evaluate, report, and provide insights on program results, challenges, and opportunities.
