Key Qualifications

  • Experience in or knowledge of:
  • Basic exercise physiology and training
  • Weight training and the design of personal exercise programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Presentation skills are a plus
  • Experience in a fitness related field e.g., coaching, mentoring, training, etc
  • Students should have completed coursework in exercise physiology, health promotion, or a similar curriculum, and be knowledgeable of ACSM guidelines. Experience in measuring blood pressure is a plus
  • Preference will be given to students associated with a college or university program majoring in exercise science, nutrition or related fields
  • Good communication skills and a high level of integrity are essential. Interns should be highly motivated, organized, disciplined, and open to feedback to ensure a beneficial internship experience

Description

Apple Wellness in Elk Grove, CA is seeking undergraduate and graduate students in the field of exercise physiology, health and wellness and kinesiology to join our team. This internship offers practical experience in the Apple Fitness Center. Students gain hands-on experience in lifestyle counseling, exercise prescription, and wellness leadership to all people, all backgrounds, and all perspectives at Apple. If you are upbeat and driven to improve the lives of others, join us. Apple Wellness offers internship opportunities twice a year. The duration is 6-9 months and compensation includes hourly salary. We ask for a commitment of 15-19 hours per week.

Education & Experience
