Apple's Exploratory Design Group is looking for a senior photodetector scientist to actively participate in the development and testing of semiconductor short-wave infrared (SWIR) photodetectors. This person will be responsible for working with outside vendors to develop new low noise photodetectors including the design, fabrication, and characterization.

Key Qualifications

  • Solid background with Opto-Electronics and photo-detectors in the SWIR range
  • Previous experience in III-V and/or II-VI detector design and fabrication
  • A background with micro-lens is beneficial

Description

Responsible for leading external vendors in the design and implementation of SWIR photodetectors Design of the test infrastructure for testing the electrical, optical, and thermal properties of SWIR photodetectors Participate in the data analysis and necessary statistical analysis for performance assessment Ability to use scientific theory and published data to develop new photonics structures to meet specific performance requirements

Education & Experience

PhD in Optics, Physics or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of post-graduate experience.
