The Software Build & Integration team at Apple is at the core of the Apple software development process. We are responsible for delivering the state-of-the-art operating systems and applications to Apple customers. This includes running the operations of Apple's production build system in support of macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, Xcode, and more! The role empowers the manager to influence new feature integration into Apple software, by collaborating with engineering managers from Software, Hardware, Localization, QA, and Project Management teams. Software B&I Manager will have the opportunity to plan and integrate solutions using distributed computing, cloud services, and virtualization technologies to deliver Apple software to customers.

Description

- Manage Software Build & Integration teams based in Cupertino and San Diego - Responsible for U.S. operations of daily production builds for Apple software - Monitor and report on build operations metrics and incidents - Handle incident management, escalate issues, and run retrospectives - Work cross functionally with teams across Apple on complex software integration efforts - Work with project management teams to determine engineering priorities, resource engineering efforts, and manage team in executing those tasks - Identify tools and process improvements that scale build operations and improve reliability of build service - Participate in capacity planning of compute, storage, network, and headcount - Staff for and improve training process for new hires

Education & Experience

BSCS, MSCS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science Previous first level management experience or technical lead experience
