Come join the iPad Hardware Team in pushing the boundaries on the next generation of iPads. The iPad Division is seeking enthusiastic electrical engineer for the iPad Engineering Team. This is a hands-on design engineering position creating and integrating schematics, boards, and working with cross-functional teams to enable new technologies. As a part of the iPad team, you will help with concept and feature development, rapid prototyping, production part selection and product integration. You’ll have the opportunity to travel to our contract manufacturing partners to support mass production builds and develop both the test development and failure analysis procedures to ensure a high level of quality for the product.

Key Qualifications

  • 6 + years overall working experience required
  • Solid EE fundamentals are crucial, a great intuition of electricity and magnetism, understanding of switching power converters, basic microelectronics circuits
  • Must have hands-on experience in prototype creation, initial bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support
  • Experience designing high volume products from concept to production, working with contract manufacturers to develop factory test procedures and failure analysis training
  • Broad experience in small embedded systems and microcontrollers, digital logic, FPGA integration with an attention to detail on reducing power consumption
  • Experience in high speed design and integration of USB, cameras, displays in implementing protocols such as MIPI, DisplayPort / LPDP, USB 3.1
  • Familiarity with sensor integration including highly noise sensitive analog rails, A/D conversion, mechanical and electrical mounting and integration as well as testing and validation
  • Familiarity with wireless communication systems including Bluetooth, WiFi, and cellular baseband is desired
  • Excellent design communication skills
  • Experience with tools and software including:
  • Engineering schematics and PCB design using Cadence Concept & Allegro
  • Documentation of engineering requirements specifications using word processing software such as Apple Pages
  • Thorough analysis of systems using Apple Numbers or Excel
  • Effective communication of designs internally and externally using Apple Keynote
  • Proficiency in automation of validation or analysis using scripting languages such as Python or Lua
  • Position will require some international travel.
