Interact with internal camera system hardware and software engineers to understand requirements and opportunities. Interact with sensor vendors to understand how they are meeting requirements, and validate their implementations. Develop methodologies for internally and externally validating system requirements, including functional reference models, hardware simulations, FPGA systems, and sensor evaluation hardware. Develop and publish reference drivers and recommended configurations to internal teams for characterization, manufacturing, and production implementation. Develop and report on measures of sensor quality, especially as it relates to the functionality of system components external to the sensor. Travel to vendor sites as required for implementation reviews.
Education & Experience
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required. An MS or PhD is preferred.
- Hardware design experience (Verilog, RTL synthesis, circuit design) is helpful. Experience with non-image sensors (ambient light, proximity, MEMS, for example) is desirable
