In Apple Acoustics we work with obsessive attention to detail, directly contributing to products that ship to millions of people around the world. The Audio Product and Home Acoustics team is responsible for the acoustic design and overall audio quality of the EarPod, AirPod and HomePod product lines. We are motivated to share our love of audio so that anyone can be moved by sound the way that we are. We are a diverse team having expertise in acoustic design and integration, algorithm prototyping, critical listening and hearing science. We work daily with multi-functional teams to find innovative solutions to complex engineering issues. We are searching for an audio technologist with experience in hearing science to take AirPod and AirPod Pro to the next level.

Key Qualifications

  • Theoretical knowledge of auditory perception
  • Proven record of audio algorithm development (e.g. Matlab, Python)
  • Audio prototyping experience
  • Excellent communication skills

Description

You will be prototyping and evaluating new audio technologies and products, which will require high level software prototyping and potentially hardware prototyping. The role involves validation through acoustic tests and user studies, helping to drive product specifications to support feature implementation. As part of our team, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (software, hardware integration, user interaction).

Education & Experience

Most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Acoustics, Signal Processing, Computer Science or an equivalent field, but if you’ve followed a different path to expertise in audio or acoustics, we still want to hear from you.
