Graphics Power Analysis & Optimization Engineer

As part of our Silicon Technologies group, you’ll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You’ll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. We are looking for a talented and creative engineer to support the power activity of Apple best-in-class GPU development.
- Perform front-end and back-end power triaging and optimization on GPU designs.
- Implement power fixes for both RTL and micro-architecture, evaluate savings and prioritize relevant takedowns.
- Profile and identify best power sign-off tests to improve new feature coverage for best power analysis.
- Develop early power analysis heuristics to identify power takedowns in the absence of power tests passing simulation.
For this role, the candidate must have a strong analytical expertise, power, software and micro-architecture background to support the following activities: Develop energy models for power targets, “What-if” analysis and early power estimation Collaborate with the micro-architecture teams on design implementations to obtain better power efficiency without compromising performance Work with designers on RTL power analysis and reduction Support the various gate-level power rollup and analysis Develop heuristics to accelerate power analysis on larger power data set
Education & Experience
MSEE or equivalent is required.
