Our Software Engineering team is a passionate group dedicated to building, improving and localizing Apple’s software for our international markets. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer with strong software development, continuous testing, interpersonal and foreign language skills.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience building software for Apple’s platforms (watchOS, tvOS, iOS, macOS)
  • Proficiency with Objective-C or Swift programming languages
  • Proficiency with Apple’s development APIs (UIKit, Cocoa Touch, Cocoa, CoreFoundation)
  • Experience building applications for the web
  • Experience shipping consumer oriented products
  • Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl)
  • A working knowledge of UNIX commands
  • Some knowledge of continuous integration, software testing, and version control
  • Strong analytics and problem solving
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience or curiosity in languages and culture

Description

You will work with a wide array of Apple software engineering teams, international software QA centers, translators and project managers to ensure that Apple delivers world-class software products to our international markets. Your role is to make sure Apple software products work beautifully all over the world. Your duties include: - Developing and maintaining software tools that help facilitate the localization and internationalization process - Building, improving and localizing the user interface and underlying functionality of iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and Apple’s applications - Analyzing international functionality issues and making changes to application and OS source code - Identifying areas of improvement in existing tools and processes, and addressing issues with innovative solutions - Working cross-functionally with other engineering teams, and QA and project management teams throughout Apple

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics (or equivalent experience).

  • - Experience in software localization/internationalization
  • - Proficiency in full stack web application development and frameworks (e.g. Django, Rails, Angular, React)
  • - Experience with databases and indexing (e.g. Cassandra, ElasticSearch, SQL, Solr)
  • - Native-level foreign language skills in reading, writing and speaking
  • - Knowledge of Computational/Corpus Linguistics
  • - Experience with international text issues such as right to left layout and Unicode
  • - Strong interest in Apple and its international users
