The Quality Initiatives Project Manager (QPM) is responsible for leading and guiding development activities of highly skilled quality teams within Apple’s Manufacturing Design group. The QPM will lead the team to develop quality processes for building extraordinary products from existing and new ideas based on business needs. The QPM should possess a blend of business and technical knowledge, allowing for big-picture vision and the ability to dive deep into specific challenges.

Key Qualifications

  • Extraordinary leadership abilities
  • 5+ years of professional experience (preferred)
  • 2+ years of program management experience with accomplishments in concept to market product development
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with consumer electronics devices (preferred)
  • Experienced working with multi-disciplinary groups, driving schedule and tasks
  • Experience leading team meetings/syncs
  • Ability to lead without authority, foster trust, build credibility
  • An understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes, operations management, and supply chain management.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience presenting to executive level management on program status, recommendations, and priorities
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, timelines and requests
  • 25% International Travel

Description

Description The QPM manages innovation within quality team by leading the technical team to achieve key quality initiatives while maintaining project timelines for all quality and process while ensuring related project documents are available to the required parties. QPM also leads process optimization projects to help improve efficiency. Key responsibilities include: Create detailed schedule for quality initiatives indicating critical path and key decision milestones Facilitate communication and cross functional alignment within the Manufacturing Design organization and with other Apple teams Drive suppliers, integrate their deliverables and schedules into the overall project Lead meetings and document action items and progress. Identify and prioritize project tasks and risks Hold team members accountable for meeting schedule commitments Maintain equipment SPOR and track drawing updates to the SPOR vendors Coordinate weekly exec level presentations, crafting the message and prioritizing the open items

Education & Experience

BS degree (Mechanical Engineering); MBA or equivalent (preferred)
