The iPhone & iPad Systems QA Hardware Automation team is looking for a hardworking and creative HW Automation engineer with excellent mechanical/mechatronic, programming, data analysis, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will design, build and deploy automated test fixtures and tools to improve Apple’s quality across iOS devices. We pride ourselves on developing unique solutions to apply a customer-centric approach to system quality.

Key Qualifications

  • Background in crafting mechanical, electrical, and/or software solutions to automate physical tasks
  • Ability to design, execute, and maintain fixtures, tests, and tools for measuring HW/SW quality at the system level
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies
  • Proficiency in Python and software version control systems
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners including QA teams, developers, and project managers

Description

As part of a hardware automation and test team, you will build robotic automation solutions for new technologies designed to perform full-system testing to ensure high levels of product quality for iOS products! You will collaborate with engineering, designers, and other QA teams to plan the most effective and impactful ways to test and solve short and long-term system-level problems. You will report and quantify the impact of all system issues found, advocating for the customer and contributing to the highest quality at all levels of the product. You will design, deploy, maintain, and execute physical system testing solutions as the owner of one or more technology areas.

Education & Experience

- BS ME, EE, CE, CS or equivalent engineering degree

Additional Requirements

  • Nice to have:
  • - CAD design and/or 3D-printing experience
  • - Mechatronics or hobbyist electronics experience
  • - Experience with data visualization
  • - Experience with machine learning and/or computer vision techniques
