Joining the AppleCare Service Operations team will give you the opportunity to lead and oversee a range of assignments within our service, repair and logistics process. As the Inventory Control Supervisor you'll be responsible for developing our inventory control processes and procedures while guiding and coordinating the daily activities and team members within the Service Warehouse Operations team. This will include test and repair, inventory control, data entry, and shipping and receiving team members This is a fast-paced , high volume, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. Key Qualifications

  • 5+ yrs experience as an Inventory Management Supervisor or Manager in a high volume operation
  • Experience leading a team of 20+ inventory specialists and/or cycle counters
  • Proficient with Inventory Control processes and disciplines which supports the creation of new processes and procedures as well as blending in existing processes for our AppleCare Service Operations
  • Able to gather, compile and report key metric data using various applications; Excel/Numbers, FileMaker, etc
  • Able to effectively tailor written and verbal communication and style to differing audiences
  • Proficient with SAP, FileMaker Pro, Mac OS, iOS, Microsoft Excel &Word, Pages & Numbers
  • Thrives on a team where expertise is shared and feedback is welcomed
  • SAP experience required
  • APICS certification required
  • Six Sigma experience preferred


As an AppleCare Service Inventory Control Supervisor, you will work to ensure all new and existing team members are trained/cross trained and have the knowledge, ability and tools needed to perform their role. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Ensure team members understand and are adhering to the required procedures and processes while providing objective performance data as it relates to safety, training, quality audits and productivity. Responsibilities will include, but, not be limited to: Develop Inventory control processes and procedures that supports monitoring inventory levels, supports daily cycle counting, reconciliation and inventory adjustments as necessary. Identify critical parts availability by working closely with Corporate Buyers to ensure that there is sufficient inventory levels to support production. Monitors systemic transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Serves as liaison between Test & Repair and Shipping & Receiving operations teams to develop inventory control procedures and process flows, concepts and processes to support existing and new lines of business. Provides data analysis and volume studies for Service and Refurb planners to assist in developing and maintaining inventory levels on consumables and misc. tooling; i.e min/max inventory levels for parts replenishment, KanBan process. As a subject matter expert for Inventory Control, you will represent our operation in process/rating improvement efforts and new projects and in developing logistics execution plans and creating Inventory Control process and procedures. Identify and recommend process changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Monitors and provides daily metrics to track inventory accuracy to ensure production objectives are achieved. Collects and reports inventory levels and accuracy metrics. Escalate functional and process escapes to the appropriate support groups and supervisor. Perform additional duties and responsibilities such as task delegation and systematically follow up on progress reporting. Implement continuous improvement activities including Lean operation and 5S. May provide functional supervision coverage in the absence of the other Logistics supervisors. Collaboration with other Apple groups including Finance, AppleCare, Refurb Planning, Regional partners and Engineering to help identify obsolete, excess and slow moving material with the goal of reducing inventory levels.

Education & Experience

BA/BS degree or 5+ years of people management in an applicable inventory control role, in a reverse logistics, test/repair or high volume environment.
