This hands-on EPM role will focus on driving and aligning cross-functional engineering resources to execute based on projects priorities. This position will work with cross-functional team DRIs including engineering, operations, Quality, and China OEM/CM teams. This role will identify, evaluate, and drive various activities while clearly communicating the risks, priorities and schedules to cross-functional and management team. In addition to the above areas, this role will also involve partnering with NPI EPM team in next generation product development. Given the speed and scope of programs at Apple, this EPM leadership role must respond quickly and clearly regarding changes to the overall goals, schedule, and/or architecture. The EPM must be a fearless person capable of working with highly skilled cross-functional engineering teams to identify risks, explore solutions, reach consensus and execute mitigations quickly and efficiently. This job requires an in-depth understanding of development and manufacturing process, and is required to have an engineering degree and experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Key Qualifications

  • 4+ years of overall industry experience
  • Experience working with China OEMs in high volume production products
  • Strong multidisciplinary and technical background
  • Impeccable organizational, multi-tasking, and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with portable products including displays, batteries, WiFi/BT, cellular, input devices, enclosures, silicon, and/or mass storage

Description

The Strategic Engineering Project Manager (EPM) role in the Strategic EPM team owns system level products (products included but not limited to: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Accessories) in the following areas: (i) Post-ramp qualifications of new components, modules, processes etc… (ii) Qualification of New manufacturing sites (iii) New technology bring up on current platforms (iv) Drive NPI activities during product development phase

Education & Experience

BS or MS degree in electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering
