The Wallet, Payments & Commerce organization is growing rapidly and managing an increasingly diverse set of products. Focusing on and delivering the best product strategy is imperative for Apple. As a result, managing a coordinated product roadmap effectively is a critical requirement for successful long-term growth. Core responsibilities for the New Product Roadmap Strategy Lead role are to work across the Wallet, Payment, and Commerce (WPC) organization to manage the product roadmap. This requires a strong focus on overall product vision, working with product and engineering teams to set multi-year product strategy, coordinating the process to develop a coordinated roadmap and managing changes, as needed. The main product teams in WPC are (i) Wallet & Apple Pay, (ii) Apple Card / Apple Cash, (iii) Apple Media Products Payments & Commerce Platform and (iv) Access & Home Services. The role will include product analysis, collaboration with Engineering PMO, and special project management. The role will provide dedicated strategy support for new products for Wallet & Apple Pay. The main emphasis of this team is to assess emerging, new technology and potential product and business opportunities for WPC. This will include evaluating long-term opportunities for Apple, current capabilities and other growth opportunities to ensure Apple develops and grows amazing services for our customers. Furthermore, the role will support cross-organizational planning for WPC products that are highly dependent on other Apple teams outside of WPC, including Siri, Watch, App Store, Retail, and other teams. Your success will hinge on the ability to comprehend the entire product portfolio at WPC, depth of technical knowledge in key areas, and the capacity to structure problems and develop processes for a large, fast growing organization. Moreover, this role will require the ability to communicate and debate effectively with Apple leadership on product roadmap decisions, and it will require strong influencing skills to engage diverse teams across WPC.
- Minimum experience of 5-10 years in product management, corporate strategy or PMO office for a global or high-tech organization.
- Clear understanding of engineering development processes; Apple engineering process experience is highly desired.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
- Passionate about digital payments and commerce experiences.
- Ability to coordinate and lead large cross-functional teams.
- Ability to structure, complete, and effectively communicate sophisticated modeling and data analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with senior executives, including via formal presentations.
- Detailed knowledge of Apple products, services and ecosystem.
Provide strategy leadership for new Wallet & Apple Pay products, including business, competitive, and financial evaluations Handle the product roadmap process by coordinating with product, engineering, and business teams to evaluate and align on a coordinated plan Work directly with senior leaders and teams across WPC and other teams throughout Apple, including business management, business development, operations, engineering, developer and other partner relations, and other teams. Drive the annual product roadmap planning process and regular reviews Facilitate leadership forums and prioritization sessions for WPC products Understand Apple’s overall development cycles and key release requirements Continuously assess and improve product roadmap management processes Partner with each product team to understand, assemble and prioritize their product proposals; communicate and lead roadmap changes to these teams Run changes or re-plans to the product roadmap mid-cycle, as needed
Education & Experience
Bachelor Degree and/or MBA from top-tier institution or equivalent graduate degree.
