Role Number:200165532
Siri is building a new team in Pittsburgh, and we’re looking for software engineers to join us! Siri is a pioneering personal assistant that offers a faster, easier way to get things done, even before you ask. Our customers rely on Siri to help them make calls and texts, play music, answer their questions, and more, just by using their voice. Our team creates, maintains, and evolves the on-device user interfaces and frameworks that power the Siri experience on all of Apple’s devices. We’re excited to be building a new, Pittsburgh-based team and are looking for the right people to join us as we grow here.

Key Qualifications

  • You have a solid understanding of computer science algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
  • You are self-motivated and curious, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities and an innate drive to improve the world around you.
  • You thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment, where you work not just with other engineers but with designers, testers, managers, and executives.
  • You have a passion for building great products that surprise and delight users.

As a member of our team, you will make substantial contributions to the Siri experience. You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and shipping exciting new features and important software updates, and will uphold and protect standard methodologies for writing high-quality, maintainable, robust code. You will learn how native software is developed at Apple, which includes not just writing code in Objective-C and Swift, but integrating with—and developing—powerful new frameworks, often before they are available to the public. You’ll also help bring up the Siri user experience on unreleased hardware, ensuring that it is tailored precisely to the needs and capabilities of each device. Our team obsesses over the user experience, fights for excellence, and innovates down to the details. We celebrate teamwork, taking pride in helping each to other to learn and grow. In our highly multi-functional environment, we work closely with world-class design, machine learning, and quality assurance teams to make Siri the best intelligent assistant in the world! Engineers on our team primarily write code in Objective-C and Swift. We use many of the same frameworks that are familiar to macOS developers, including Foundation, AppKit, Grand Central Dispatch, and XCTest, in addition to internal libraries that are only available to engineers inside of Apple. You don’t need to already know these technologies to be successful on our team. With learning and teamwork as two of our fundamental values, we’re confident that you’ll get up to speed once you’ve joined.
