Instructional Products (IP) is seeking an Engineering Project Manager with a strong background managing SW projects for iOS and macOS, with an emphasis on UX. The IP team produces instructional help content for all Apple hardware and software products, and is responsible for a critical portion of the customer experience. The EPM plays a key role in cross-functional communication, driving projects from development to production, and delivering innovative user-facing content, as well as in developing internal authoring and content management tools. The successful candidate is a self-starter who has a track record managing, delivering, and scaling engineering projects simultaneously.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of technical project management and cross-functional team management experience
  • Experience working with software engineers, UX, and instructional designers
  • Good knowledge of iOS, macOS, and/or web platforms (CSM and QA or Coding experience a plus)
  • Excellent project management experience: planning, scheduling, project communication, issue resolution, change management, and risk management
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness to manage changing business requirements, projects, and resources, adapting accordingly and positively
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time
  • Strong organization and facilitation skills (requirements and design brainstorming sessions, progress and status meetings)
  • Experience with SDLC (preferably iOS) and Agile / SCRUM methodology
  • Ability to drive QA efforts and follow up on issues, prioritizing as needed
  • Ability to comprehend, communicate, and manage complex design tradeoffs
  • Experience balancing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting aggressive timelines
  • Great leadership with a collaborative mindset
  • Flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience

Description

Work with engineers, instructional/UX designers, and cross-functional teams to track and drive multiple concurrent projects. Identify risks and dependencies of the team’s work. Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and management. Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within and between teams. Solve problems and remove obstacles for development. Build a technical understanding of the work the team is doing.

Education & Experience

BS/MS CS/CE or equivalent
