Apple’s Exploratory Design Group is seeking an enthusiastic research engineer to join a team of highly innovative scientists and engineers to design, validate and implement novel technologies. You must be self-driven and self-sufficient in a rapidly-evolving research environment. You must be comfortable and able to apply software and mathematics to explore novel algorithms on various datasets. However, it is highly desirable that you can also create software to help execute experiments, analyze measurement results, and create basic visualizations of the data.

The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to: careful preparation and curation of ML datasets, advising on experimental protocols with inverse rendering-like algorithms to infer spatial physical properties, implementing and adapting algorithms from papers to the needs of a multidisciplinary team, and creating visualizations to help explore data.

Education & Experience

MS or PhD in Machine learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Data Science or related field with 2+ years of research experience.
