The Open Source Program Office at Apple owns, defines and executes open source strategy. We focus on making Apple an open source friendly place. Our tasks include streamlining the process for upstream contributions, creating tools to automate the process, gathering and reporting metrics to measure the efficacy, educating teams to encourage contributions and identify new projects, and increase our presence in developer communities. Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in design, development, and implementation of large-scale websites
  • Expertise in using web-authoring tools and design software, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience using visual aids such as wireframes, storyboards and high fidelity mockups
  • Experience with static site generators, such as Hugo
  • Understanding of web analytics, accessibility, standards, and SEO techniques
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with experience delivering multiple projects of varying lengths, while meeting quality standards and deadlines
  • Experience collaborating with various partners, such as Engineering, Legal, Marketing & Public Relations

Description

We are advocates for open source and we're always looking for those as passionate about doing this work internally for Apple as we are. Are you a hardworking person who comes to work to make a difference?! You’ll be an authority on visuals, processes, and strategies in order to deliver results that reflect the high quality and elegant style of the Apple brand. You’ll design content for multicultural and global audiences. You’ll work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where quality, creativity and accountability are tradition. You’ll produce design documents that explain your design. You’ll be able to create prototypes, get feedback from the stakeholders, and drive iteration cycle for projects across the organization. You are willing to build dashboards to gather and report metrics on web properties. You know how to convert feedback into measurable items. You will communicate project status on a regular basis and conduct regular project meetings.

Education & Experience

BA or BS degree or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with versions control systems, specifically Git
  • Managed blog and social media presence
  • Some experience in user research and usability testing Interactive prototyping skills
  • Technical writing and communications design
  • Experience in scripting languages as such Ruby, PHP, Python, etc is a plus
