AppleCare is looking for a detail oriented, motivated, individual with strong background in Material Planning and Procuring. This person will own supply planning and procurement of products for AppleCare. They will act as a focal point in communication and executing supply plan to meet AppleCare’s overall goals. This position requires solid understanding and experience in procurement, supply planning, vendor communication, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Qualifications

  • Prior experience in product planning, demand forecasting, buying, procuring, inventory management, or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of procurement, supply planning, and vendor management
  • Strong Microsoft Excel modeling and analysis skills
  • Experience in Service Supply Chain planning or reverse logistics a strong plus.
  • Prior experience with MRP tools such as Oracle or SAP or JDA or others.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task in a dynamic fast-pace environment
  • High level of comfort in analyzing data and ability to make decisions or provide mentorship with limited available data
  • Ability to think strategically and execute proactively.

Responsibilities include purchase order receiving, placement and maintenance, invoice reconciliation, monthly cycle count adjustments, inventory management for multiple warehouses, and stock balancing execution across warehouses. In addition, you will partner with planners, suppliers, warehouses and internal accounting department to coordinate issue resolutions and application enhancement requests between the business and warehouses. Responsible for key performance metrics such as backlog, fill rate, inventory turn, and vendor forecast accuracy. Analyze forecasted demand, inventory, develop weekly supply plans that meet customer demands. Results should meet AppleCare’s target of fill rate, while minimizing total inventory cost. Execute weekly plans effectively to minimize future gaps and improve inventory turns. Analyze and set system parameters to optimize inventory and meet service level goals and minimize costs. Maintain and update MRP master data for planning parts at various plants. Also responsible to initiate Engineering Change requests based on material life cycle. Run What if Simulations to optimize material/capacity constraints while minimizing impact to customer satisfaction. Analyze and resolve product backlogs, fill rates daily. Identify problem areas, and drive appropriate functional groups to correct. Work closely with cross functional teams such as WW SDM, factory Op’s teams to ensure sufficient capacities and materials to meet supply requirements. Coordinate weekly conference calls with Europe and APAC teams to sync on supply-demand matching regionally and globally Publish weekly OEM forecast, ensure deltas and gaps are clearly communicated and bridged. Find opportunities for system enhancement and work with key business partners and IT to implement continuous system improvements. Coordinate key cross functional projects, communicate project timelines and impacts to the team PO maintenance and management including resolving Open PO, Out to Vendor, PO TAT, receiving PO and invoice reconciliations issues.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Business, Supply Chain Management, Math, Engineering, or Logistics is preferred. With 5-7 years of forecasting, planning, purchasing, inventory or related experience. Or Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Math, Engineering or Logistics with 3-5 years of proven experience. APICS CSCP, CPIM, or IBF CPF Certification is a plus
