CAD / PLM Specialist

As a member of the Product Design team at Apple, you will help to conceive, design and bring to production highly integrated new products. You will work closely with several cross functional teams including Product Design, Hardware Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Manufacturing.
Key Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Product Design, CAD, or PLM support role
- Experience with large assemblies
- Experience using PLM systems
- Expert 3D CAD skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Ability to help and train others
Description
Preferred Experience:
- Significant CAD experience in NX, Pro-E/CREO, SolidWorks, or CATIA V5 is preferred.
- Significant experience creating and implementing CAD and PLM workflows and processes
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
- Consumer electronics experience not required. Serious consideration will be given to qualified candidates from other fields with relevant technology and development models
Core Responsibilities
- Manage large assemblies in CAD and PLM
- Define and communicate CAD best practices and methodology (2D and 3D) - Shape the processes for the release of parts and assemblies via PLM
- Define requirements for new CAD and PLM tools
- Provide guidance for assembly structuring and fast assembly load times
- Define processes for vendor data management
Education & Experience
BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
