Key Qualifications

  • Experience and passion for augmented reality and related technologies
  • Technical background or experience working closely with engineering teams
  • Adept at working cross functionally with a variety of partners (Engineering, Content and Prototyping, Legal, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
  • Led or participated in research and commercial strategy development with internal teams
  • Knowledge of sophisticated commercial contracts and commercial deal terms (e.g., experience negotiating technology development agreements)
  • Experience handling third-party relationships and presenting key findings and proposals to senior executives
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to travel internationally (20% - 30% of time)


As a Business Development & Strategy Manager, you structure next-generation technologies and services by leading business engagements between Apple’s engineering/product organizations and external vendors. Project management and cross-functional leadership skills are key because you are the bridge between Apple’s world-class engineering team and the strategic goals they are trying to accomplish. You present regularly to senior Apple executives and are on the forefront of strategy development with internal teams. You have responsibility for cross-functional coordination, creative problem solving, developing deal structures and leading engagements, strategy, and negotiations with Apple’s partners. You are an experienced contract negotiator and understand what it takes to establish long-lasting relationships with cutting edge technology companies. The position requires a keen understanding of sophisticated commercial contracts and operations as well as relationship building skills.

Education & Experience

BA/BS with 7+ years of relevant work experience

Additional Requirements

  • Lead research and commercial strategy development with internal teams
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute strategic deals for technology development and licensing engagements and partnerships with third parties
  • Structure and negotiate complex deals from idea to product launch with deep understanding of deal terms to achieve objectives and mitigate risk creatively
  • Regularly interface and negotiate with third-party executive management teams
  • Collaborate across Apple including engineering, legal, marketing, and other teams to ensure technical and business objectives are met
